SLSsteam 20251227142901 - setup fail to wrap/load SlSsteam (STEAMDECK)

ive tested this on steamdeck with Steam Stable 1766529085, using setup.sh, it is failing to load SLSsteam without using this command

ln -sf /usr/lib32/libcurl.so.4 ~/.steam/steam/ubuntu12_32/libcurl.so.4

when i run that command it works correctly

Did you use the official setup script or patch /usr/bin/steam yourself?

Make sure to add library-inject.so to your LD_AUDIT if you did the latter:
LD_AUDIT="/home/deck/.local/share/SLSsteam/library-inject.so:/home/deck/.local/share/SLSsteam/SLSsteam.so"

The wiki has this now too.

If you did so correctly the symlinking should not be necessary on SteamOS anymore. As always thank you for the feedback <3

Edit: Just saw you used the setup.sh. Did you run steam using it's .desktop file? The one you launch using most Desktop's kickstarters (KDE on default SteamOS).

thanks i have manually modify it and it works now,tysm ill observe and retry again and check what did i miss and why it doesn't work on setup.sh, but manually modifying /usr/bin/steam make it work, first i did almost soft brick it but ive manage to get into terminal in the boot up of steamdeck and modify it because of typo, thanks ace it work, ill will update here again

That does sound like a rather precarious situation to put yourself into. You don't have to put your SteamOS install at risk only to test SLSsteam, you know? Well if you still wish to do so anyway I can only offer to hit me up via E-Mail so we can exchange Discord IDs or something to make troubleshooting and not destroying your whole install easier I guess.

Nevertheless, I'm glad you managed to make it work with the adjusted LD_AUDIT now :) All these reports of "still not working" making me crazy.

For now, pretty much yes. To download the SafeMode hashes from github I added libcurl as a dependency. But since steam completely changes the LD_LIBRARY_PATH the linker can not find the required curl version to fully link SLSsteam so rtld-audit ignores the library. To fix it I decided to write a minimalistic second auditing library that allows me to adjust the linking process where I deem necessary.
