Establish a draft notebook outline for day 1 of spatial workshop #882

Description

@sjspielman

This issue tracks drafting a notebook outline for the first day of the spatial workshop, which we expect to focus on data processing and visualization for a Visium dataset, planning for a sample from SCPCP000006. See https://github.com/AlexsLemonade/training-admin/issues/1453.

Notably, for actually running code for this forthcoming training module, we'll need to be at R 4.5 but that Docker image is not yet created. I could therefore just write a document and attach here to the issue, but I don't think that will be an ideal review experience - being able to use the full PR review environment will be helpful for feedback and associated discussion.

Bearing this in mind, I plan to:

  • Create a folder for spatial materials (which I will aptly name spatial) that contains some placeholders like a README and setup directory, and also an Rproj file at R 4.5 and maybe a temporary renv that we can use for internal development until we tackle the Docker image.
  • Add a draft outline as an Rmd file, which we'll start without a ton of bells and whistles and as part of review/discussion identify avenues to expand it out in subsequent issues as needed.
    • It may also turn out what we don't want to merge a draft, but just take advantage of the PR ecosystem to support folks giving feedback. In this case, I'd file a separate PR for the spatial folder placeholder/barebones when we're ready for that and then do a "more real" PR with an actual notebook.
