To quote 24601{:rel="nofollow" target="_new"}, who am I?
{:class="about-me-pic img-responsive"}
{:class="center"}
I am Dave Aronson, a retired software development consultant (meaning I wrote code and gave advice about how), with about forty years of professional experience in a wide variety of languages, systems, techniques, and domains. Further details have been elided from here upon retirement. :-)
Aside from actual hands-on software development, I also enjoy speaking at conferences, especially in interesting places where I can take a few extra days to play tourist. (The picture above is from JSConf Hawai'i{:rel="nofollow" target="_new"} 2020.)
Relatedly, I also maintain a CfP (Call for Papers/Presentations/Proposals) list (what's closing in the next 30 days) available here. (This is actually a smallish subset of a much larger one I maintain for the Speakers Network within the Toptal{:target="_new"} consulting network. Please use that link to hire or join them, the anchor is my referral tag.)
On personal notes: I am married to a smart cutie who doesn't like publicity, so no more details there. For now, we live in City of Fairfax, VA{:rel="nofollow" target="_new"} (a suburb of Washington, DC), and are owned by two cats, but we plan to move to Porto, Portugal{:rel="nofollow" target="_new"} around July 2026. In my spare time, I brew mead{:rel="nofollow" target="_new"}, and maintain a website about it{:target="_new"}.
