Strip hangs sometimes

Hey,

All is working pretty well.
However sometimes part of the strip “hangs” and doesn’t get refreshed.
Leds that were on, stay on. On those who were off, stay off.
When I disconnect USB the same leds stay lit and even when the Teensy goes through the RGB self test when reconnected, except the part that is still hanging.
When disconnecting the power source to the strips I need to wait for a minute.
Reconnect USB and external power to the strips.
Only then they’re all off and things work normally again, otherwise they'll come on in the same "hanging" state.

Is this behavior caused by bad or poor data?
Ground is shared through the Octo board and pin 15-16 are bridged.
Why doesn’t a USB reset solve this behavior? Could the script be modified to brute force a reset to all leds?

Still no joy.
I replaced the strips and the power supply.
Both to no avail.
Perhaps a new Teensy and Octo next.

I have this same exact problem sometimes where only cutting all power will restore the full functionality. I figured that maybe there was some issues with the controller however I wasn't/can't be sure since I built my own 256px addressable LED-matrix using a strip that I cut/soldered myself. However, since a powercycle remedies the occasional issue, and since more people seem to experience the same issue, then maybe something can be done

I am still having these same issues.
Ended up replacing everything including the Teensy but still to no avail.
However the issue seems far less frequent than before. Only once every week with daily playtime.

Did you try with both firmware available for the Teensy? I never had that problem with mine. Are you on Windows 10?
If you disconnect the "data" signal cable when the strip is working the exact same issue that you describe happens. So if there is no problem with Windows drivers or Teensy firmware I could bet that you have a false contact and you should check that wire, I mean the "data" one from the RJ45 connector until the end of the strip.
