bug? or limitation...

First, love the program, thanks. Few questions, to make sure I understand if this is a limitation.

If i do a check of the SFD version, and it says 1.07, is that the ONLY version i can select in th drop down menu?I cant use V2? would like the higher resolutions...

BUT the issue, is 80M as a video bitrate, I cant seem to increase this any more... Is that the limit for V1.07?

EDIT: They are not playing on the game.... I followed the instructions, and then when i converted back to SFD, selected the largest res, the porper version, and now the games blank when the FMV should play, but it plays perfect in the SFD player... so somethings not right.... any ideas? or maybe a bug?

Hey there!

For the SFD version check, you are correct - only the version printed in the output can be used. As for the bitrate, you should be able to just enter anything into the box and it should work, although it may not be a huge visible difference since 80M is already a high bitrate.

As for your issue of it not playing in-game, the resolution printed in the Version Detector output is the resolution that you have to choose, since unfortunately most games are locked to a max resolution.

all i get when doing a version detection is ""INTROBET.SFD" is a V1 SFD, created with the V1.07 muxer." then when i went in and made this file back to an SFD after upscaling, i selected the highest res on the dropdown list...which was lower then the res of the video... must the mp4 im trying to turn in to an SFD, must the res MATCH the max in hte drop down? i assumed it would downscale the file when i selected one of the resolution in hte movie maker for v1.07

ALSO, i set the video up to be 60 fps as well...some videos are 60fps for dreamcast, are they not? this shouldnt be a problem, right?

Try selecting 320 x 240 in the dropdown menu - every Dreamcast game I've tested doesn't support any width larger than 320. The video bitrate should also be changed to 3600k (most DC games have a video bitrate of 3600kb/s, some are higher, but they don't seem to pass 4000kb/s, due to disc read speeds).

Most games should also support 60fps, but if the video still doesn't play after changing the resolution to 320 x 240, try changing the frame rate to 30.

If this still doesn't work, let me know the name of the game, and I'll do some tests on my end to figure it out.

oh wow... so they really HAVE to be that low? god damnit. What ill try. is each step down in resolution until i get it to play
and if not, ill kill the bitrate and then repeat the process... shit balls. I was hoping for , nothing insane, but Resident evil 2... the movies are bigger then what yu say here.....
