There is no longer a choice of Google maps for Android devices

It used to be the case that a list of applications installed on the users device would pop up when invoked, or, if only Google maps was installed, it would open. This is no longer the functionality on the latest android build. This still works fine in iOS.

Any workaround at this issue?

Use react-native-map-link instead. It seems to be the only map link package that is regularly being updated.
