Hi Krisztian, We use an Apptainer container with Ubuntu 18.04 (the last release that fully supports Python 2 and GUI libraries) to run the rose-edit GUI on our HPC, which works pretty well. The only GUI-based tool that doesn't work this way is the rosie GUI due to a bug in the one of the dependency packages. Happy to share the container recipe if you are interested. |

Longer term there is a pull request open to port rose edit to python3/gtk3, which should be easier to run. |

Hello,
I was wondering if there is any advice how to go about setting up the rose-edit functionality for OS like RHEL9.x please?
I believe on Monsoon3 the 'trick' is that the rose-edit command invokes an SSH to another system with OS RHEL8?
Is there any other way to edit UM suites than rose-edit?
Many thanks
Krisztian
