Automated tests have been implemented to compare single time series from HydroBase and REST web services. See the ColoradoHydroBaseRest_CompareHydroBase tests in the following:
These tests are limited and are intended to confirm that the software returns the same values in both cases, and point out major issues in web services. These examples can be expanded to compare all time series. This would require getting a list of data types and then formatting the TSID for HydroBase database and web services. Comparing all time series could be done periodically to confirm that issues have not slipped through, for example when a major data load has occurred.
Workflows could be implemented by State of Colorado staff with input from Open Water Foundation if there are questions.
