Peacock playback fails with "unsupported browser/client"

I also have the same issue with a WinTel laptop. It's not exclusive to Linux or ARM.

The content provider is very restrictive and only allows playback on Android. On Windows and macOS, I believe they use Verified Media Path (VMP), which only allows playback through authorized browsers. And I think Linux doesn't support VMP, so they don't allow playback on this operating system.

This is why playback with this addon is only possible on Android, without using any tricks.

Playback on PCs is possible, but using pywidevine instead of widevine. Version 0.8.4 of the addon supports pywidevine.

However, for it to work, a .wvd file is required. These files contain information about an Android device. As far as I know, these files cannot be distributed, so the addon does not include one. Therefore, you must obtain it yourself and copy it into the addon's profile folder.

These .wvd files can be extracted from Android devices using certain tools, or by searching online.

Did they change it recently? I've been using it for the better part of a year on raspberry pi with no issue.

The addon was using a website that did the same thing as pywidevine, but it no longer works. There are other similar websites, but they ultimately aren't reliable.
By using pywidevine directly with the addon, we don't rely on third-party services.

I used a modified version of Cedric's guide where, instead of using wvdumper, I used keydive. I don't recommend using wvdumper, because it is obsolete. Also, you don't need to install Android Studio if you have a rooted Android device.

@Paco8 Please note that the latest version 0.8.4 depends on a new script module called "script.module.pywidevine" that cannot be found in Kodi's default repository. But the module cannot be found on your release page as well. Please kindly provide the missing module or a download link for installation.
