Bimanual Task: make me a sandwich

The league needs to force bimanual manipulation tasks.

Describe the solution you'd like

Opening a jar is a good start. But in context of a general purpose service robot, the task of making a sandwich can involve several sub tasks that require two hands.

Describe alternatives you've considered

pour a beer with two hands, mix a cocktail with a shaker, or other two handed tasks that are commonly performed by humans, unscrew the top of a water bottle, open the top of a kettle and fill it in the sink.

Alternative bimanual task

I think a “breakfast for the elderly” task would also fit:

• Optional: Get a plate and glass
• Optional: Read and understand the pill schedule
• Select suitable pills from a box.
• Remove pills from a blister pack and place on a plate.
• Open a bottle and pour water from the bottle into a glass (so that the pills can be swallowed)
• Tear off paper towels from a roll and place on a plate

Task Attributes

• Two hands are needed to remove pills from a blister. Two hands are also needed to open the bottle. A second hand can optionally be used for pouring. To tear a paper towel off a roll, the roll must be held and the paper towel gripped.

• And you can prepare all tasks incompletely with one arm: Only prepare the appropriate medicine packet; the referee releases a number of tablets; the robot checks that it is the correct amount. Only prepare a glass and a closed bottle. Place a whole roll next to it.

• We have many social interaction tasks, but no task where the robot has to read.

Admittedly not as cool as mixing cocktails, but perhaps more useful. All my friends don't understand why tidying robots are supposed to be cool, for example. My grandma's friends, on the other hand, all understand that service robots are necessary. Especially those who live in a retirement home.
Probably “removing pills from a blister” is too difficult at the moment, but I just thought I'd throw it out there :)
