Does not seem to work on iOS9

Just updated my app with xcode 7, running on an iPhone6 with iOS9 the launch images are not found by interfaceBuilderBasedLaunchImage.
It looks for /var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/[bundleid]/Library/Caches/LaunchImages/[bundlename]/LaunchImage-Portrait{375,667} which is not found.

I'll look into it also, will update to my fork if I find the problem.

Actually, I think it is worse than that.
I’ve looked in the simulator and the launch images do not seem to be cached anymore. I’ve gotta go home now, but that is as far as I have gotten with this.

How did you originally find the information about what files the phone writes when it loads a storyboard launch image? Did you just look on lots of devices? I can’t actually find much information about what the names of the generated files should be.

I just looked on several devices and then found http://stackoverflow.com/a/20045142/2082172 that provided me missing parts(answer provided full list at that time I believe). There was a problem on simulators that sometimes images were either missing or located somewhere else, but I think it was fixed around the time iOS 8.2/8.3 was released.
Probably some image names will be LaunchImage-900-667h@2x.png and the like but I'll try to verify this.

This is for storyboard generated ones specifically, but I searched the whole device directory structure on the simulator and it does not have any "LaunchImage*" files at all.

I hope you can find something :)

I assume that your are using your own pod in some apps you have on he store?
Incidentally, it only seems to be a problem if he ios9 phone is running a binary compiled with the latest sdk - so I think existing app versions work okay.

Actually no, no apps are using this pod now after design changes.

Regarding iOS 9 - now instead of defined names launch images generated from xib seem to get some GUID as name(path is Library/Caches/Snapshots/{BUNDLE_ID}/{SOME_GUID}.png). So we'll probably have to use metadata.
