Visual feedback when saving.

Right now we have a few items handled with Flash (from the old days of CakePHP), whereas others where there is no feedback at all (e.g., Settings). Maybe we could unify everything with something more modern (such as an overlay, a notification?). 

I am happy to work on this - but I would like to have feedback on the preferred choice.
