Do ADMX Policies Work Without the WinGet-AutoUpdate-aaS App Installed?

Hello,

I am currently testing WinGet-AutoUpdate-aaS with Microsoft Intune. I noticed that the configuration is applied via ADMX-backed profiles, but I would like to clarify one point:

Do the ADMX policies require the WinGet-AutoUpdate-aaS application (from Microsoft Store or MSI) to be installed on the client devices in order to take effect, or can they work independently?

Without the application, the ADMX policies do nothing.

Thanks, I just tested and verified this, but it didn't work when I applied the rules only to devices in intune. It worked when I applied it to Devices and Users

Both should work :). But ADMX ingestion takes two sync cycles while one installs the ADMX and the other the configuration based on the ADMX.
