Feature Idea: Obsidian Annotation

Idea

A new setting that, when enabled, adds a third tab to the left sidebar (alongside Table of Contents and Version Browser). This tab would browse files from your configured Obsidian vault, letting you click any markdown file to open and annotate it — directly as part of your Plannotator feedback.

Motivation

Plans often reference existing docs, specs, or notes that live in Obsidian. Right now you'd need to copy content out or use /plannotator-annotate separately. With vault browsing built into the sidebar, you could pull in relevant context and annotate it alongside the plan in a single review session.

Rough UX

• New toggle in Settings > Obsidian: "Enable Vault Browser"
• When enabled, a third sidebar tab appears (e.g., a vault/folder icon)
• Tab shows a file tree of the configured Obsidian vault (respecting the folder setting)
• Clicking a .md file opens it in the annotation viewer (reusing the existing annotate mode)
• Annotations on Obsidian files get included in the feedback sent back to the agent

Open Questions

• Should it show the full vault or just the plannotator subfolder?
• How should annotations on external files appear in the feedback output — separate section, or interleaved with plan annotations?
• Should it support linking specific Obsidian notes via [[wikilinks]] found in the plan text?
