'Cancel' not prevent equation from being edited

I was fiddling with the logistics model and inspected one of the Auxiliary variables. I clicked into the equation field of the inspector and typed random characters (I was wondering if it was editable). I then clicked "Cancel" next to the save button, but my changes were already saved and the model had errors.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR:

I would have expected "Cancel" to have prevented my changes from being saved. "Save" button is right next to it, which I expect would save my edits.

Also ran into this today. Thankfully the undo button was right there :)
