Hi, successfully running the programmer on several Pi and windows via wsl2. For usability it might come in handy to introduce a new switch to select banks in a more verbose way. e.g. mxprog -b 1 -w xy.bin for programming bank 1. A gui would be great too, maybe we could come up with a simple web gui.

Are you okay with group buys? Couldn't find licensing info so over at a1k I started an Info thread on the programmer including the link to the git and ordered a test run of ten of which I initially gave 4 to different testers.
I had no issues myself but for the rest we would likely distribute a vmware linux image with precompiled binaries alongsides the programmer.

Hello Thorsten, I appreciate you reaching out and asking. A new -b option for the bank number would be great. For a write or verify, it could compute the written address based on a multiple of the detected input file size. For a read, it could be a multiple of the read length. I'll see what I can do to make this happen.

Regarding a GUI, I'd be fine with someone else implementing a wrapper around mxprog or reusing mxprog source to do this, and would happily take that in a Pull request.

I am okay with group buys. and am perfectly fine with builders making a nominal profit. There is a minimal page which does give some minimal information on how to load firmware on the programmer and command line usage for mxprog: http://eebugs.com/mx29f1615/

I will leave this issue report open until the new "-b" option is committed.

Added -b option to mxprog so that a bank for programming may be specified.

Hey Chris,

I tried to come up with a gui (qt6) that invokes mxprog. Banks can be filled individually, 256k Rams are concatenated to 512kB, .rom files are byteswapped (other than .bin). Unpopulated bank are filled with ff.
With usbipd in wsl your hardwarer can be used in wsl.

Maybe you want to test https://github.com/thbreidenbach/mxprog-gui. Tried to offer different install aims - hope those are correct. I tried mac and ubuntu (wsl) surprisingly with success.
