by default select the current ongoing semester rather than the latest semester in the semester drop down

when they add the a new semester while the current one is ongoing but theres no point of the new one and because it by default selects the first sem of the list it has no data and you have to manually select it everytime

so something like when you select some semester it stores that in local storage and next time when you open it that semester loads instead of the latest one

what if we pick the semester using registration code

using the month and the year

like something on the lines of if the current year in current subject code start of the subject code

if 2 semester codes have the current year in it then decide if it's first half of the year then make it EVEN sem

if it's second sem then make it ODD

and if the month is June July then make it SUMMER

i think local storage option is best ... it also gives a native app feeling

whatever other logic we make up will need maintenance in future

i mean can implement the combination of the 2 as well if someone hasn't chnaged the semesters then have the auto select logic according the date and all but

if they changed it then store it in the local storage
like how the default attendance criteria is set at 75... but as soon as you change it it gets stored in the local storage
