[Feature] DM list shows duplicate entries after room upgrades

Hi! Opening this as a feature request as we talked about on chat. 😊

Description

In the Direct Messages list, some people appear two or even three times. This seems to happen when a DM room gets upgraded (new room version / new room ID), leaving the previous room as an older/archived version.

In Element, these older room versions can be hidden under something like “Archives”, but in Commet there is no way to hide them, so I see the old and current rooms together, which is confusing.

Steps to reproduce (typical)

1. Have a DM with a user.
2. The room gets upgraded (new version / new room ID).
3. Commet shows multiple DM entries for the same person (current + old versions).

Expected behavior

By default, show only the current DM room in the DM list, and either:

• Move older versions to an Archived section on a profile, or
• Provide a toggle like “Show archived/old room versions”

Why it matters

It is often necessary to search for the right room, which can be very confusing. Especially when the old one is only relevant for viewing, not for active communication.

BTW - I haven't tried this with traditional channels, but if it's a problem with them too, I would solve it for them in the same way.

#482 is a more Matrix spec language-y way of saying the same issue, looks to at least be partially resolved with #760 making sure that old rooms are properly immutable and point to the current room.
