TOC independently collapsible with visual indicator of sub pages

As many other sites, show which TOC entries that have subpages with "^" and ">" icons.
Ideally support exploration of the TOC via expanding/collapsing sections independently of the selected page.

Thanks. I think Furo provides all those mechanics for the primary navigation already? We had been exploring this topic with GH-405, but your recent patches might bring in similar benefits already?

Exactly - this was just an "after the fact" issue to track the work done in #682 (as linked here) in the Docs Revamp project.
Nothing more to do here (except releasing).
