`CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED` with example.org

Problem

We started receiving this error message recently from the link checker when the documentation references example.org.

[SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed:
unable to get local issuer certificate (_ssl.c:1081)

This patch aimed to start ignoring [www.]example.org to satisfy the link checker, but wasn't successful.
