Raspberry Pi .sh issues

If you also run into issues with the Raspberry Pi shell script scanner it would be appreciated if you could either here publicly or privately describe your findings so that we can try to make improvements. 

Or, at some point, I hope one of us can dig into and resolve this issue and see if the shell script version is salvageable or if it needs replacing.
