Hi, i am using Waveshare usb display device the 2.8inch model, the device only works with Waveshare software solution on Windows only. My goal is to rely on linux and get support for Waveshare usb display device.

Also, Waveshare software solution is presented in this link https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/2.1inch-USB-Monitor , Waveshare Pcmonitor tool must be installed allongside K-Lite codeck pack in order to take control of the usb display device.

In Linux I can confirm, the waveshare usb display device is identified as Brain Actuated Technologies;
( Bus 003 Device 011: ID 1234:5678 Brain Actuated Technologies )

If anyone has experience with such devices, please let me know.
My opinion is that many USB display adapters are powered by chips from Silicon Motion (SMI) or DisplayLink, etc.
I have a small display on a Pi5, which I'm experimenting with a bit independently of CoolerDash.
I think we need a driver (kernel module) that can reliably communicate with the device under Linux.
CoolerDash uses the driver solution from liquidctl/coolercontrol, which also has an API for communicating with liquid-cooled AIO LCD devices.
