No local grunt installed

When trying to runt grunt, both via
docker run -it --rm dockerfile/nodejs-bower-grunt grunt
and from inside
docker run -it --rm dockerfile/nodejs-bower-grunt /bin/bash
I get

grunt-cli: The grunt command line interface. (v0.1.13) Fatal error: Unable to find local grunt. If you're seeing this message, either a Gruntfile wasn't found or grunt hasn't been installed locally to your project. For more information about installing and configuring grunt, please see the Getting Started guide:

I have the same issue. My initial thought was, that the grunt container also needs access to my local files, so I tried this:

docker run -ti --rm -v /home/jobs/bla:/data dockerfile/nodejs-bower-grunt grunt

But to no avail. I still get the same error about "unable to find local grunt".

Found it out. Quote from the grunt page:

Note that installing grunt-cli does not install the Grunt task runner! The job of the Grunt CLI is simple: run the version of Grunt which has been installed next to a Gruntfile. This allows multiple versions of Grunt to be installed on the same machine simultaneously.

So you first have to create a package.json:

Then you can install grunt:

docker run -ti --rm -v /home/jobs/bla:/data dockerfile/nodejs-bower-grunt npm install

And finally run grunt:

docker run -ti --rm -v /home/jobs/bla:/data dockerfile/nodejs-bower-grunt grunt
