tracking original (xiph/LPCNet) code?

LPCNet-FreeDV is based on old xiph/LPCNet code, it looks forked from https://github.com/xiph/LPCNet/tree/b811cade95cf19530ddfbe5aadeaff7c4f89ba77

Currently original LPCNet supports SSE officially so I think migrate this better, but I am afraid that new code breaks compatibility.

Should we track original code, or maintain our code?

The upstream has diverged enough that it would be a significant effort to get back in sync. Plus, I'm not sure the existing 2020/2020B modes would be able to work with the upstream version. Maybe @drowe67 has more feedback on this?
