Description
Description of the bug
I tested Mastodon syndication today: categories (hashtags) aren't displayed in the Mastodon post.
Is there anyway of adding it automatically to the end of the Mastodon post (i.e., below the URL link)?
A workaround I tested is to type the tags inside the content field manually like #tag1 #tag2 and Mastodon recognizes it.
But because it is not at the end of the post (the link comes last at the moment), it doesn't get the "hashtag styling" Mastodon provides (small buttons at the bottom of the post), for example:
Steps to reproduce
- Create a note, add content, add category tags
- Syndicate to Mastodon using plugin
- Create post, go to edit post, click on syndicate button to initiate post
- Check Mastodon post: no category tags are included, despite being under the character count of the Mastodon instance (I initially thought the category tags were not displayed because it passed the limit, but that's not the case)
- Create another note, type in the hashtags literally in the content field like
#tag1 #tag2 - Repeat step 3. Hashtags should now appear in the Mastodon post
Expected behaviour
Indiekit category field is expected to be added as hashtags at the very end of the Mastodon post.
Environment
- Indiekit version: ^1.0.0-beta.25
- Browser: Firefox
- Server: Render.com
- Content store: Gitea
Additional context
Edit: Sorry, I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature request.
