Feature request: background processing

I need to do Presense , which requires sending basic low quality gps location back to te server , even when the mobile app is closed.

For desktop it’s a service.

For web it’s not possible unless it’s a service worker .

Running background apps is not so trivial. I remember that Tailscale tweak some stuff to be able to run their background service on iOS (https://tailscale.com/blog/go-linker).

I want to investigate it too, with focus on Android/iOS.
