New Relic Conflict

We are trying to implement this on a rails 4.2 project and we are having some conflicts and it seems to be with the New Relic gem.

Has anyone had experience with these 2 working insync

If you're looking for a place to dig in, here is where we hijack the controller.

Any idea what the exception is in this code? Is it caused by an error in your controller/view/does it repro if there is no error?
