Spring-based configuration of IHE endpoints

Just thoughts:

1. Do we need the possibility to configure IHE and Continua endpoints as Spring beans and not as a bunch of parameters in the endpoint URI? In other words, the same approach as in camel-cxf.
2. In 2009, we had to implement special classes to use CXF from Camel endpoints, because the standard camel-cxf component was not flexible enough. Is it still inflexible? Or could we switch to it, thus reducing redundancy and providing the feature described in (1) out of the box?
