A little guidance with a package

Hey Kevin, I am working on a package that will install a service to venus os. Initial installation will require that a script be ran in terminal to configure several parameters for the service. Is there a mechanism for this in package manager? I don't expect setup helper to run the configuration script, but rather just a message in the menu that initial configuration needs to be done before proceeding with the install? I thought I remembered reading something about that in your documents before but I can't find it now. Can you point me in the right direction?

Yes, there is a simple way. Create file in the package directory named optionsRequired. The file can be empty.

PackageManager will not install the package if this flag file exists and shows "setup must be run from the command line" if it has not been done yet.

When you do an install via setup script it creates /data/setupOptions//optionsSet which allows PackageManager to reinstall the package.

Your setup script should write non-volatile copies of any configuration to /data/setupOptions// as part of an install and then use these during a reinstall. My RpiDisplaySetup package has examples of this.

There is some additional description in PackageDevelopmentGuidelines.md in the SetupHelper package. However, I just looked at it and there's nothing about managing command-line entered configuration options. I should probably add that.
