Interesting. I'll upgrade my distro and try to reproduce the issue. Missing 'stddef.h' sounds like the toolchain is not properly set up.

Edit: Make sure you have installed:

• libc6-dev (possibly even build-essential)
• libclang-dev

I upgraded my distro and packages. Build is running still fine. So i think it must be due to some packages. I suspect libc6-dev or build-essential is missing as that pulls in the C headers I think. Let me know if that worked for you.

I wanted to play with the crate yesterday and had same errro (Fedora KDE 43, latest KDE 4.5.x, dev-tools installed)

I did some research, and it looks like to be an issue of the bindgen crate, where in some cases it doesn't find or pass the standard library include directories to clang?! Not sure why its marked as fixed when its not...

• Bindgen does not find some standard headers rust-lang/rust-bindgen#2612

The solution/workaround found by other users is to

• Ensure libclang1-19 and libclang-common-19-dev are installed. Which you already have.
• Manually add the include path via BINDGEN_EXTRA_CLANG_ARGS=-I/usr/include/clang/19/include/ environment variable.

Unfortunately, I can't work around that issue in libui-rs, because I don't know which clang version my users have installed.

I also did not manage to get the environment variable seen by bindgen with export BINDGEN_EXTRA_CLANG_ARGS=-I/usr/include/clang/19/include/, or using config.toml. But maybe this is just me and you are having more success.
