What is the current state of MCell?

I see there is activity in the dev branch but no new release since 2016.

Hello,

It is under active development, but we have probably been too shy about moving code from the development branch to the master branch. But the development branch is the best to use.

We just released a new version (including a new Windows version) at mcell.org.
