Hamamatsu camera error in MM

My lab has a Hamamatsu C114400-22C camera that was working perfectly fine before we upgraded to a Windows 11 machine, but now gives us an error message whenever we try to add it to Micro-manager via the device wizard:
"hamamatsuHam_DCAM": Native module failed to load (6)"
I've been back and forth with Hamamatsu without making much progress, and I'm desperate to get this working again.

I've already tried using the same old version of Micro-manager (1.4) that we had been using on the old machine and the latest version, but both give the same error.

First things to check: Have you installed DCAM-API? Also, are you running a recent nightly build of Micro-Manager?

Yes, and it looks like the device manager is recognizing it too (below). I've tried an old version of Micromanager (1.4) and the newest version (don't remember) and got the same error on both.

It looks like this error message (slightly confusingly) means that Micro-Manager can talk to DCAM-API but cannot initialize (connect to) the camera.

If I'm not mistaken C11440-22C is a relatively old model, and the DCAM-API Compatibility Notes (available at the above link) no longer lists it as supported (although this does not always mean it won't work).

It might be a driver issue. Can you see if the camera works with the ExCap program that you can access from the DCAM-API installer? If that doesn't work, it may be necessary to try an older version of the DCAM-API drivers (such as the 2023 version on the download page after checking the box).

If ExCap does work, maybe it's a Micro-Manager-specific issue that we can further investigate -- although I don't have any great ideas at the moment.
