Syntax highlighting can be broken before getting back on tracks

I stumbled upon this where syntax highlighting seems to break...then find its way back ?!
It's coming from the Angular Material website and the example regarding Table and Selection.

The highlighting is pretty broken with some supposedly red errors, a commentary (Position Column) which is not properly marked, then everything comes back into place.
I don't know what exactly confused the extension, the ternary operator, the AND operator or a mix of this "advanced syntax".
