Description
Hello, currently in about 6-7 out of 10 cases, players don’t realize they’re bleeding right away. Sometimes, they miss the sound because it’s drowned out by louder sounds in the map.
The bleeding overlay that appears during bleed damage ticks is too transparent and easy to miss when you are in a dark area or when players are focused on gameplay. For example, while fighting a zombie horde.
The bleeding particle attached to the player’s hip is also terribly hard to notice. To actually see their own bleeding particle, players need to look directly down at the ground, which almost no one does in the middle of combat.
My suggestion would be to make the bleeding overlay texture more visible, or move the bleeding particle attachment closer to the player’s chest so they can see blood squirting out of their body while looking forward. Alternatively, could create a CVAR for this particle with 1–3 different attachment points, allowing people to choose how they want the effect to appear.
Not sure if this particle attachment was specifically designed to be unnoticeable or to make the player point his camera at the ground, if not, my suggestion remains.
I will attach 2 GIFs, original behavior versus an example for a better location for this bleeding attachment. In my example, the player is looking straight forward and he can notice the particle straight away.
