Expected Behavior

In the previous version I followed these instructions:

To enable WHIP for local streaming via mediamtx. This worked well until I upgraded.

Current Behavior

The WHIP option is not present in the service menu in OBS V32 that was just released. I used the DEB install method.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Install OBS 32 (currently only DEB, flatpak is not yet updated)
2. Try to set up WHIP streaming following instructions from docs.

The WebRTC plugin (which provides the WHIP output and service) is currently disabled on the Ubuntu build:

While I do not know why that is, it's clearly intentional and not a bug, so I'll close this issue.

It's enabled on Flatpak, which I assume is what you used previously. The Flatpak has already been pushed to Flathub (see https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/actions/runs/17931619881/job/50989784981) and is awaiting their approval. Until then, use the 31.1.2 Flatpak.

FWIW that line has been there for over a year now (see #9787), so it's not new.

IIRC Ubuntu just doesn't ship a usable libdatachannel version that would work for the plugin.

I'd prefer not to put this kind of information in the build/install directions.

We can see about updating the KB article to mention that Ubuntu builds, currently, do not support WHIP.
