External button with onclick stop emulatorjs

What is the correct way to stop emulatorjs when clicking a button with onclick?

To hard stop, you can call EJS_emulator.callEvent("exit"); - however no message will be displayed to the user. You'll need to handle this too

To pause/play, you can call EJS_emulator.pause(); or EJS_emulator.play();

I'm starting the emulator in a lightbox, but when I click the X button to close it, the emulator keeps running in the background. I want the X button to completely stop the emulation.

You should use an iframe, and kill/create the iframe as needed
