Directional keys not working on switch controller for Home Alone

I would like to play the home alone game online using my switch controller however when connected the d pad nor the joystick work. Any help is greatly apprciated.

Have you mapped the controls in the controller settings menu? Or do these mappings not work?

The mapping appears to already be set but if I try to map myself all buttons work but the road and the joystick.
Is there perhaps another inexpensive controller I could use. Open to buying one just don’t want spend a ton since this is the only game I would use it for.

I'm not sure, could you try the nightly on demo.emulatorjs.org? I believe there may have been controller changes
