Possible to make this mod a separate addon that can depend on CP instead of replacing it?

I am reaching out to community because my skills at low level coding of mods is lacking. Making chopper support an addon to CP instead of fork would be a better solution. This would allow both to run concurrently, reduces the workload of keeping this fork updated to main CP easier, and make it more approachable to a wider audience.

Any one that know of mods that do this would be greatly appreciated or any one with skills in this area. I found plenty of examples that have interface function between mods but chopper support needs a deeper level of interaction requiring access to all CP functions, variables and overwriting functions. This probably is done through modDesc and the first source file to load. This may not even be possible so this is only a inquiry to see if it is even feasible
