Milestones

  • Bring up the BLR testbed and add it to gitlab CI so certification tests can run in parallel. Motivation • Currently we have a single testbed setup connected to gitlab CI. • Every PR must pass at least one certification test. • If the testbed is down, all PRs are blocked. • Development also requires manually triggering certification tests, which all wait in a queue since we have only one testbed • Gain expertise in Intel team with the gitlab CI - this will allow us to debug issues, add support for new features, etc. without hard dependency on the opensource team (and mainly Raphael)

  • Bring prplmesh in line with the requirements for Easymesh R2 certification. As before, this does not require each bit of the R2 spec to be implemented; in particular, data elements will be addressed at a later date.

  • In the previous milestones, the certification was passed. Now, all we have to do is turn our firmware into something that can be put in a product and that incorporates the full easymesh R1 specification (including bits not tested by the certification tests).

  • Our first task is to get the firmware, tests and testbed up to the state where we can reliably pass the Wi-Fi Alliance tests on the Wi-Fi alliance specified testbed with the firmware. This is done for wired backhaul only in M1. This milestone instead focuses on the wireless backhaul. Tasks that fall under this milestone include: * Changes in the firmware to support the parts of the feature tested by the Wi-Fi alliance tests * Creating basic tests for the features * Getting the testbed up to specification * Connecting the testbed to a CI server and running our tests automatically using CI with the testbed * Running the official tests with our firmware (and making sure they pass) * Only the most essential of refactoring tasks needed to support the above points
