SSl auto signed problem and solution

Hello, I have encountered this issue when using self-signed SSL on my local servers, which throws a node error. Upon investigating, I found a solution by adding an option within the code. This is a local fix, and I would like to know if I can make a pull request with this patch, adding an option to enable these lines, which would default to true.

I have never contributed before and wanted to check before making the modification and sending the pull request. I also don't know if the owner of this repository is still active.

Below are the lines I have added locally in the node_modules.

Hi @darthenis, thanks for raising this, PR is welcome. Would be nice to make this configurable instead of hardcoded :)
