I don't have a good idea what is wrong here. This package is so old and {future} does this kind of thing so much better. I'm considering delisting or instead seeing if I can do a quick re-write that wraps {future}. My fear is that if I write a wrapper that I'll break backwards compatablity - at which point I just should delist in the first place. If you use this package and are interested in seeing it continue, please respond to this issue so that I know it is worth the time to consider fixing.
