01.05.00 Version 1.5.0 Beta 1 - build 00016c is loosing config

I've got a reliable MQTT->graphana setup running and I can document that the Logger forgets all it's config even though I don't interact with it.

• the device is running on a 2000mAh Lipo - fully charged, charge state is also monitored and visible on the screenshot:

As an A/B test I'm downgrading to v01.02.00

Thanks for the update. We'll need to figure out a way to replicate this, since we don't see the issue.

A couple of questions/thoughts:

• Did the system restart when it lost it's settings? You can look at the uptime value in the About page (or enter !uptime in the serial console when it's logging).
• We you update the config with your WiFi settings, are you exiting the menu system (- entering a b or x as you exit the menu) and seeing the '[I] Saving System Settings' message when you exit? If you don't exit normally (hitting the ESC key) or don't exit the menu system settings are not saved.
• After you save your settings and restart the datalogger - does everything restore correctly?
• Note: If you have the system save settings to a JSON file, it won't save any 'secret' values - like WiFi passwords. But, you can edit the file and add them.
• If you enable Fallback Save - it would overwrite any custom/secure items in the json file - so I wouldn't do that. Again, we didn't want to write out any secure items.

Thanks for spending the time on this. We'll look at the prefs config implementation again.

We are hoping to release this week, but found an issue with the OTA update feature and are trying to resolve it before we release.

I didn’t check the uptime when I noticed. Might check this another day.

I did from now on use both save methods. JSON and rom. I’d expect them both to restore everything. I’d like the logger to be as reliable as possible

If you still the WiFi credentials disappear again, I would not save settings to JSON - just to internal and see if that changes anything. When you save to JSON it would not save the WiFi password - this was done for security. Not sure if this is the issue, but it's worth trying I guess.
