car charging from PV is not done?

Although my home battery is full the plan is to still charge the car in the night (at the cheapest rates), but now 4k is going to the grid. My car charges at 2.3k (predbat knows). So it would be logical to charge the car from the excess PV?
Am I missing a setting?

Predbat works to minimise your electricity bill and generally its more economical to export your solar and charge your battery overnight on the cheap rate

I dont think that was the case since I got 8ct for the electricity I put back and had to pay 22ct to charge the car. I don't think it sees it as an option? I am not using oculus but the regular smart plan.

ok, in my opinion it sounds logical that when the car is plugged in and there is a lot of solar that you should at least have some sort or option to turn that on. I now work around it but I think this could be implemented.

What it would need:
excess solar average over x (10-15)min. (afgExcess)
if afgExcess > power needed for charging (* 1.1) AND cable connected -> charge car.
check every 15 min to turn this on/off.

I'm sure there has been some sort of discussion around this idea before. Something around using the car_charging_now sensor? Setting that to a switch you can control. You can then use a HA automation to trigger it based on your solar excess.

Not the case here in NZ on a number of plans, because we are moving towards peak/off-peak/night export rates - f.e. my Off-Peak export rate (1100-1700 2100-2300 Weekdays and 0700-2300 Weekends) pays $0.10/kWh, whereas my night rate import is $0.17/kWh. Is quite the delta in cost efficiency there. AU also has similar plan structures as I understand.
