Menu bar is not present if there is no history #82

Good morning, Stuart.
If I start the application for the first time, or clear the history, there is no menu bar visible:
The menu bar appears when there is an item in the history:
Is this intentional?
(Ubuntu MATE 20.04, using Martin's snap of the backported Yaru theme.)
