Pi 5

Will the image run on a Pi 5? I moved my SD card to a Pi 5 and it didn't boot. I don't have a micro HDMI currently so can't tell you about any errors. I just wasn't able to discover the wifi hotspot after a period. I'll post a screen grab when I get a proper cable.

I believe the issue is Pi5 requires more power & will get too hot.

I'm new to this project but I have a CM4 and CM5 lying around. Getting too hot can't be an issue. You could limit power easily if neccessary and it should be more efficient because of the LPDDR4 alone. I really don't like wasting the space in the armrest, so I would rather put the Pi somewhere in the back or Frunk, where heat will likely be easier to deal with.

Pi 5 will likely never be used for this and a number of other projects. Its missing core hardware features that allows the interface to be hardware accelerated before it is broadcast over wifi to the Tesla browser. Since so few projects used the on device hardware encoder, they omitted it and instead focused on HW decoding and other things.
Yes you can still do it in software, but at a higher overhead both in terms of latency/power/quality.
