Some apps freezing

Hey so alot of times i get a message that "This app is not responding" and then get the option to either wait or close. I am wondering if this could be due to a slow SDCard? Do you think upgrade to a faster SDCard or booting from a USB3 SSD would make a difference in the experience ?
