need to process VMFILETYPE statements from VM TCP/IP

CMS TAR needs to process VMFILETYPE statements from VM TCP/IP. 
See TCPIP DATA which is normally on a public minidisk. 

The indicated filetypes give a clear hint whether a particular file should be translated between ASCII and EBCDIC.
