Redis Publish

I understand why subscribe can not be supported, but publish is not blocking and I can not see why not this is a supported Redis command.

If Twemproxy support publish we could have non-Twemproxy connectors to Redis with blocking subscribe listener.

You can e.g. listen with subscribe on all the nodes, or duplicate the sharding logic from twemproxy.

How to implement the subscribe logic is up to the external script/code since subscribe is still an unsupported twemproxy command.
