Empty Template: Index shows even when template is edited

Edit to add: I'm using Block Builder

I used the Index template to make my home page and several other pages on my website, but when I have saved them as individual pages they do not show up on the live site. I just get a notice that the template is empty.

I've tried saving my page to the template directly, and I get a JSON error. I am also unable to create a new templates as well. I keep receiving JSON errors.

Any help would be appreciated.

It's possible the theme is due for an update, but most likely, you just need to add something that's missing:
