Random Things

This is the place I put random mini-projects that haven't yet earned their own repos.

Projects

  • Hydrogen: A hardcoded solver to sample from the wavefunctions for the ground and first two excited states of the neutrally charged hydrogen atom. Rescaling constants are eliminated here, such that, for example,
    • $\Psi_{1, 0, 0}(r, \theta, \phi) = e^r$
    • $\Psi_{3, 2, 2}(r, \theta, \phi) = r^2 e^{-r/3} \sin^2\theta e^{2i\phi}$

  • Dimensional Space: A visualization tool to view physical quantities as combinations of SI base units in a shared space.

  • Book Publication: An analysis of the publication dates of all the books I've read in my lifetime.

  • Brownie Simulator: A numerical heat equation solver that computes the approximate cook time for brownies based on the shape of the pan, as well as the internal temperature everywhere in the pan for all times.

  • Music Analysis: A music transcription software that uses the Fourier transform to identify the dominant notes in segments of music. I might build this into a full-fledged tool at some point, with detection of tempo, time signature, key signature, chord progression, and rhythm.
